Friday Fuel

Friday Fuel July 22, 2011

Has anyone ever noticed that the busier you stay, the more you get done? Interesting correlation.

Here’s today’s fuel:

1. Your main character is a screenwriter and their latest creation is taking heavy criticism. How does s/he respond to these attacks? This is very genre dependent… a romance might have the character leaning on her significant other and a horror might have the character taking vengeance.

2.Write the beginning of a modern fairy tale about a pied piper character.

3. Your character desperately wants a peanut butter and jelly sandwich but cannot find the peanut butter that s/he recently purchased. Does s/he blame a roommate/significant other or is something more sinister going on?

4. Your character is on a walk and discovers an historic cemetery (this actually happened to a family member of mine).

5. *Something special for children’s authors* You are a letter of the alphabet on the wall chart in a kindergarten classroom. At night you hop off the wall and have adventures.

My blogging hiatus is over. Check back on Monday for another installment!
